Our Horses

Our therapy horses assist with the Occupational Therapy,
Speech Language Therapy, and Adaptive Horseback Riding.

Amlet

Amlet is a dun appaloosa mare. Her registered name is Another Blonde Moment.  She was purchased for the program by the Jeffrey Katz memorial Fund.  Amlet was  shown as a reiner before coming to us.  She was PATH Region 6 Therapy Horse of the Year, 2010.

Chapo

Chapo is a tobiano Tennessee Walker gelding. He was donated by Terry Sorenson in October 2022. Before coming to us, he was a search and rescue horse in Arizona.

Chipper

Chipper is an Appaloosa gelding. He is red roan in color and was born on Feb. 5, 1992. Chipper was a reiner before coming to our program. He was 2007 Region 6 Path International Horse of the year.

Eli

Stay tuned to learn more about our newest youngster.  He's an adorable Paint. He's just starting his training.

Fancy

Fancy's registered name is Einstein Dunit Fancy. She is a red dun Quarter Horse. She began her career as a reining horse, then switched to dressage. She has had one foal - an adorable colt named Stanley. We think her being a Mom has carried over into making her a caring, affectionate therapy horse.

JJ

JJ joined the MTRP family in July 2018. She was donated by Lori Ann Stevens. JJ is an  appendix Quarter Horse mare. She has been shown primarily as a hunter, but has also done western and showmanship at halter.

Lillie

Lillie is a bay Arab/Quarter Horse mare. She was donated to the program in 2011 by Scott Golladay and sponsored by Larry & Lucille Ellenberger. Lillie talks!

Snickers

Snickers is a teenaged Dun Quarter Horse.  She was purchased for the program by Diane Carr. Snickers married Chipper on Feb 2, 2021 on a Facebook live event.  Over 3500 people watched the ceremony and then CBS did a segment on the news about it.

Stevie

Stevie is an off the track thoroughbred!  He raced until he was 8 years old and then became a jumper. He was donated in 2021 by Yvette Heinzelman.

Zippy

Zippy is the second horse that Sue and Ellen Jayne have donated to us. Zippy is a wonderful bay Quarter Horse mare. Prior to coming to us, she did a lot of Fox Hunting.
